|"Books are the carriers of civilization."|
I went to the library on Saturday and checked out a junkton of books. Don't you just love plastic book jacket covers? When I was a kid, I thought they were the coolest things, and they made library books "more special" than the books we had at home. Actually, I still think they are the coolest things, and it's borderline weird the fascination I have with library books and plastic book jacket covers.
No, I wasn't on the Math team, but good question, I can see why you'd ask.
Are you guys & gals reading anything good at the moment? Or is there something on your reading list you're eagerly awaiting to read? I'm looking to get into The Cousins' War Series by Philippa Gregory. You may be familiar with the STARZ miniseries The White Queen; the show is based off of several of the books from the series.
Surprisingly, I haven't read any of Philippa Gregory's books. I saw The Other Boleyn Girl (with Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman) in the theatre a few years ago, but haven't read the book. Shame on me! You're supposed to read the book first, then go to the movie. Oops!
Anyway, I am really looking forward to getting into this series, and this time I'll read the books first and watch the show after. (Okay I lied, I watched three episodes already because I was so excited, but as a mature, responsible, adult able to show restraint—no show until the books are read!)
If you have any book recommendations, feel free to leave them in the comments. I'd love to hear your recommendations, I'm sure others would really appreciate it as well!
